We normally don?t recommend leaving the Westside ? EVER ? especially during Labor Day Weekend. But if there was ever an excuse to do it, this is it.
Beginning this Friday night, our beloved news homies at the Los Angeles Times are?throwing a?massive 4-day food and wine (and beer) fest that will literally shut down parts of Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Downtown. The city-wide ?block party? fittingly dubbed ?THE TASTE,? offers Westsiders a golden opportunity to get out of Dodge this weekend and post up at any one of the?nine events blanketing most of L.A.
Pick your spot: Rodeo Drive, Paramount Studios or the Orpheum Theatre ? and eat/drink your face off ? which is exactly what you?ll do?all day. It?s the closest thing to the Aspen Food & Wine Classic we?ve ever heard of and cannot think of a better reason to venture east of Lincoln to celebrate not having to go to work on Monday.
